So this was the weirdest interview i have ever done , because i knew all the answers haha, i did this interview as if i dindnt know the band.
I thought it would be easier (which it was) also i thought it would be more help to mainlanders.
anyway josh and me had a laugh doing it !

wayne:
right heres some questions for you , when did you guys get together ? where you all from?

Josh :
we are thoughtdk and are from the isle of wight, i say 'we' but its just me, josh, we got together about 6 months ago i guess, i dont know .. but we were all in four man riot first, and then started this band because we wanted to play faster and shorter songs

Wayne :
so you were all mates before TDK , how did you guys meet? and how old are you all?

Josh:
im 17, the rest are all 15, i knew owain ages ago and cameron and james just from the island scene

Wayne :
how is the island scene? what's the reaction like to you guys?

Josh :
the island scene is a joke basically haha, its all just bands who want to 'get big' and dont even bother trying to get gigs on the mainland. People dont seem to like us either, the only people who take notice are our friends, i think its because of all the new metal bands coming up! bloody metal

Wayne:
haha i couldnt of put it any better myself , so what bands are the main influnces on your music? and what makes them so influncel?

Josh :
well we play more simple songs, so i guess the influences are bands like minor threat, black flag, teen idles, biff tannen, the horror, stuff like that .. but we seem to be writing heavier stuff at the moment, more like the sort of thing were listening to now. i hate listing bands haha

Wayne:
ha , so what you listening to nowadays? and how come you like such good music, most people your age (15 - 17) listen to stuff like blink or my chemical romance

Josh:
errr, floorpunch, justice, youth of today, sick of it all, knuckledust, f minus .. and some local stuff like when all else fails, no substance, medic .. its because its easier to just listen to a band on karrang than actually find bands i guess, i dunno, im probably wrong

Wayne:
yeah i guess , so how have things being going since you got together? had many shows?

Josh :
its good, we recorded 19 tracks not very long ago which we are doing right now, we are greasy sleazeballs so half are covers, dunno if we will release them, its hard to get gigs as people dont like us much here, we have played a few, the best were house parties with biff tannen when they were back! and we have some mainland gigs, hopefully more, brighton on the 15th and then portsmouth with this death of ahab guy in november i think, so i cant wait

Wayne:
when and where did you record the demo? is it being properly released or just on websites etc

Josh:
nah we are cutting out covers and burning them on fires now, we recorded it with rob from terradeforma in wooton. i like it

Wayne:
what covers did you bust out?

Josh:
loads, shamelessly! minor threat - filler, rise above and fix me by black flag, i hate lies - youth attack, i wont stop i wont quit - medic and some biff tannen ones, we just recorded everything we can all play really

Wayne:
so apart from the legandry biff tannen , what other hardcore bands do you have on the island? is it like the same bands all the time or do you wait for big bands to come over and then support them

Josh :
there are no hardcore bands on the island? roadsidehopescene are good but i heard they just split .. we just play any gig we can

Wayne:
so are the crowds a good mix of older and younger kids? do you find being on an island restricting for you?

Josh :
not really a good mix, mainly kids 15/16, being on the island isnt really restricting, i dunno because i dont know what its like to be a mainland band. when four man riot played salisbury it was pretty cheap. and i suppose it makes it more fun and more ofa big deal when you actually do get off the island and play on the mainland.

Wayne :
would you say its a good thing the crowds are young or would you prefer to play to 'older' peeps?

Josh :
older people i think, most people my age from my experience go to gigs to socialise and just hang out which sucks for bands because usually dont get that good of a crowd, older people might appreciate the music more i dunno, but with the island scene most kids go to gigs because its something to do and somewhere to go, not so much about the music, some people go for the music though obviously

Wayne :
so what does the futer hold for thought dk? any plans of a real release in the future ?

Josh :
we have a 7" coming out sometime soon hopefully and we will record all the newer better stuff for it, but i guess might makes wight knows this already haha

Wayne :
haha yeah i guess he does , so anything else you would like to add or anything?

Josh :
just .. keep it fresh and have a nice drive home and come to brighton and buy the cd!
